Not sure if you’re familiar with Bill James, but he has a good book about crime. It isn’t specifically about serial crimes.

Also a friendly reminder TD has a book board. I never remember either.

The Midnight Assassin is another recent one. It’s about a serial killer in Austin the year before Jack the Ripper started in London.

It not only delves into the murders, but also the scandals, politics, and police struggling with the concept one person could be responsible for the killing spree.

I am fascinated about the human brain. When abnormal behavior occurs in an individual, I try to figure out what is going on. What factors triggered Derrick Todd Lee or Sean Gillis. How could someone brutally murder a bunch of women ? Why ? Fascinating study of the will and the emotions that occurs with these killers.

Great book, but pretty much all b.s. There are some good books about Tex Watson being a frick up which actually was the cause of the spree.

Then you will love
"The minds of billy Milligan"

First serial killer with multiple personalities (a lot of them). All documented. All distinct. Some women, some men. Some boys, some girls. Different iqs and skill sets.

The book in incredible if you like to delve into the human psyche.

If you like that one, you should read Zodiac Unmasked ... if you haven't already. Excellent book written by Robert Graysmith. He was a writer with the San Francisco Chronicle when the Zodiac was active.
