Not reading the thread but I'm halfway through Radiance. Reading a little slower than I hoped. Wanted to listen to the audio book to speed up my pace a little but the female narrator is just unbearable. I gave it another try and I just can't do it. I retain information better when I read instead of listen so it's probably for the best anyway.
I actually really like Adolin. Hard not to have Kal and Dalinar as your two favorites at this point but Adolin is kind of underrated. I'm to the part where Shallan is there now and I guess going to start spying on this guy that was behind Jasnah's death (which seems dumb seeing as she could just go tell Dalinar or any authorities and have the guy arrested or questioned). Kal and company are just starting to train with the sharddblade.
Things are starting to pick up.

Words of Radiance and Oathbringer are 5/5 top books I’ve read along with Storm of Swords, Memories of Ice, Mistborn 3, and Memory of Light. Enjoy the ride.
Ps finished reread of Rhythm of war. Was so much better on reread. Also first time I read stormlight I had only read Mistborn era 1 and 2 before hand so I missed ALOT of cosmere connections. All the Warbreaker, sixth of dusk, elantris stuff popping up was way cool.

A buddy of mine just started his Cosmere journey and I had him pause after Way of Kings to read Warbreaker, just so a few things hit harder for him in WoR.

Absolutely. First readthrough WoR was my favorite but on the second I might lean to OB.
I will say rhythm of war was WAY better on the reread.

We're so close. We get one more preview (interlude) and then Friday it's here!

Rereading the released chapters again this week to get me ready for Friday. Gonna be worthless as hell all weekend. Yall got any predictions to drop?
Kaladin dies but takes up honor shard
Adolin dies leaving Shallan free to become a world hopper
Really have no clue about the contest of champions but Dalinar has to lose right?
Good guys need a bone thrown their way somewhere?
I need to see a Mistborn fight a radiant by the end of the book.
Biggest off the wall one: wax shows up at some point

I think so. Odium "wins" but he doesn't get the complete victory he wanted. Maybe Dalinar gets stuck in the SR or something.
I saw one theory that Odium would take up Valor/Honor and be a split shard like Sazed. Feels a little cheap but I could see a path where it'd work.
Another one basically saying Nale can't trust his judgement anymore because he's going mad and he's getting Szeth to take up his position as a herald. THAT would be pretty cool.
I do think something happens between Adolin and Dalinar with the foreshadowing we've seen. Dalinar sacrifices himself to save Adolin or something.
Kaladin doesn't die and I don't think he takes up honor. I can legit see him ruling Urithiru though.

This book feels so like Empire Strikes Back that it will end on an Epic bad note you know? Ps good read from esquire with sando saying he’s taking a huge risk with this book. Wrote three different endings then said screw it and did a 4th.

Given what we know about Era 2, it does feel like this will end at best as a stalemate, rather than a Victory for the good guys.

Glad Lift was confirmed as an era 2 character. I’d seen jasnah, renarin, and the heralds will be focused that article was first I’d seen her mentioned.

I keep getting the feeling he's going fully off the rails and it's gonna be some sort of space odyssey for the 2nd half. He keeps talking about tempering expectations and now this "we're changing lanes" talk.
Idk. I'm skeptical but he's earned my trust.

Downloading the audio book now. LFG.
63 hours, it'll take me roughly 2 months if I only listen to it on my commute. That ain't happening, though.
Eta: anybody else notice that Kramer changes how he pronounces names from book to book?
