I think I am going to order that. The Dixie Mafia is something I want to know more about. Were they connected or partners with the Bandidos by any chance? Or rivals?

I just read 'Cajun Justice' by James Patterson. Only a part of it is set in Louisiana. I didn't think it was all that great, but others might enjoy it.

Burke books cover New Iberia, Breaux Bridge, St. Landry Parish, and the French Quarter in great detail. Old fashion crime fighter books.

If you're interested in the Dixie Mafia, watch "Quarry" sometime. I'm not sure if the books upon which they're loosely based by Max Allan Collins are also set in the South or not.

I don't think they were.

I read this one some time back if you want something a little different from Burke (who I really like). It's set in Baton Rouge:

My Sunshine Away, by Mo Walsh

Read Billy Bourg’s books. You’ll thank me later.

I read half of it and put it aside when I got the new Mitch Rapp book in. I’ll go back to it and finish it. But Rapp always takes precedence.
