Damar Hamlin has been the focus of morning program. ESPN's First Take had a number of guests on to talk about the aftermath of Hamlin collapsing on the field during Monday Night Football, including Bart Scott who first called the hit that led to Hamlin's medical emergency "routine," but after an off-camera discussion with Stephen A. Smith during a commercial break, came back to accuse Tee Higgins of lowering his helmet and using it as a weapon on the play. Jump to 5:20 mark...

What exactly is he expecting? Skill players to just stand perfectly upright to get lit up by defenders? This is a stupid take and borderline irresponsible by Scott

He has been butthurt since the bengals slapped his ravens around last year. That dude is ultra-triggered lol.

Yeah, I don't think so. But way to go a-hole for stirring the pot at a time when everyone else is showing class.

Just watched the replay, and Higgins leaned forward, anticipating the hit, as all offensive players do. This is a terrible take by Scott, a former linebacker.

He’s getting destroyed on social media. Rhetorical question but how does ESPN put these guys on TV. He called for hurting Joe Burrow last year on this same platform. What a loser!

I remember when Bart Scott "put a little hot sauce" on Reggie Bush's ankle.

If that's the case, Earl Campbell would be in jail for attempted murder.

Garbage. #1 it’s false. #2 even if true it’s just part of the game not like he was trying to kill him FFS. Stupid clown freaking take.

TV guys sensationalize to sell their product. It was a routine play. A Freak accident. Commotio Cordis. A force to the chest that transmits the force to the heart, which shorts circuits it’s electrical system. It is like hitting a diamond in the sweet spot and shattering it. You can hammer a diamond for a life time and never find the sweet spot. Players are trained to hit with the chest.
I hope he makes a full recovery.
