NFL Insider Talks Possibility Of Cowboys Replacing Mike McCarthy With Sean Payton
© Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
Earlier this week, former NFL executive Mike Lombardi talked up the possibility of Dallas looking to replace head coach Mike McCarthy with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, if he were to retire, following the Cowboys’ wild card playoff loss last weekend...
What Lombardi is missing here is Payton is under contract through the 2026 season.

I always thought he would go there once Brees left. He already lives in Dallas and has ties to the organization.

Michael Irvin mentions Sean as one of three coaches he would get IF Jerry decided to get rid of McCarthy. Now, it is breaking news the Cowboys want him. Unreal

If it happens, one positive of him going to Dallas is that he will be able to bring his message of supporting thug criminals to the people of Dallas.

Payton isn't going to give up the free reign he has in NOLA to be under Jerry's thumb. The analysts never factor that.

Unless he just wants a fat check to close out his career, I think Payton has too much pride to bow before Jerruh
