Paul Finebaum Thinks College Football Without Fans Would Be End of the Sport as We Know It
Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports
Paul Finebaum had a very strong take on college football returning this fall, without fans, on ESPN's Get Up this morning...

Do you agree?

I said this weeks ago and I totally agree. The University is first and foremost a place of learning. In so many words #45 said the same thing "pack a stadium with fans". Tiger stadium is a place that should be packed. If they do play w/o fans LSU's practice field or any other practice field is just fine.It would moronic to have iconic stadiums empty. Let the pros do it because guess what they are entertainers.

I saw a UAB game on TV, once. That's what a game without fans or only the players' parents in the stands looks like.

This is so stupid. Have you ever watched a Tulane or UL Game? Game without fans. For real though, if you had to watch even a whole SEASON without fans and can't "survive" it,you've got finebaum issues.

Why is it that everyone thinks the world is done because we have been sitting at home for 3-4 weeks. They don't realize people are itching to gtfo of their houses??

You can't let student athletes play and then not let fans in due to safety. It's a dangerous double standard that would escalate the amateur vs professional debate and likely drive the sport off the cliff.

It would be a lot easier to monitor the health of the 300 people or so necessary to play a football game than it would be to monitor the health of 95,000 fans.

I agree. Plus you are selling the network more than the play on the field. College Football is about pageantry. You have the crowd, the interaction, the buzz, the cheerleaders, the band, pretty girls etc. Memories are made going to games that last longer than seeing one on TV. It would be sterile and forgettable.
