This why Tom Herman needs to choose LSU over Texas!

That turn around of, no I do, was just painful. I don't like Texas, but I hate to see that. A man dejected after putting in his all. I'm glad Bama hired a coach that put our boosters in their place, in their seats with the mouths shut.

A good man who cares. But his story will be repeated many times. Now that the salaries have reached insane and still growing, programs are going to have more and more unreasonable expectations. College football is on the road to decline.

Until UTexas can get their alums and trustees out of the football business and allow their coach full control over the program, it won't make any difference who is hired there. And someone needs to alter the jerk-wad Longhorn Network to take the rest of the conference into account.

I have no doubt he put his all into this job, but sometimes a coach is better at coaching up a program than coaching top talent. That seems absurd, but Notre Dame, USC have yet to also find a coach that can match their talent. It takes a coach with a bigger presense to coach a bunch of 4-5 star recruits. It will be interesting to see if Herman can pull it off.

Jeez, that was uncomfortable. I do feel sorry for him.

The truth is that he was a poor choice for Texas to start with despite being a good coach and good man. Texas has too many priorities outside the Xs and Os for a new coach that hasn't perfected the simple aspects of coaching. mac Brown was able to handle all of it because he delegated everything on the football side and was more of a GM than coach.

Yeah, gotta feel bad for them. It's easy to say he's a very rich man who will be even richer when they fire him, but people forget how much effort, dedication, and passion go into rising to the top of the coaching ranks. These guys are doing something they love and failing.
