Shaquille O’Neal Names Toughest NBA Team He Played Against
© Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports
In an interview with Howard Beck of Bleacher Report, Shaquille O’Neal named the “toughest” team he played during his career...the 2000 Portland Trailblazers.
quote:

“They were the toughest team,” Shaq said, “and they were the only team that wasn’t scared of us.”

The 1999-2000 Blazers went 59-23 in the Western Conference. Portland had Rasheed Wallace, Scottie Pippen, Steve Smith, Damon Stoudemire, Arvydas Sabonis, Detlef Schrempf and Bonzi Wells, among others.

Portland lost to Los Angeles, 4-3, in the Western Conference Finals.

I’d kind of forgotten about the Pippen Blazers, but yeah they were tough.

He probably needs to add "as a Laker". I'm pretty sure that 95-96 Bulls team wasn't afraid of them (especially as they blew their arse out 4-0.)

Pretty sure Shaq got swept by the 1993-1994 Pacers, the 1994-1995 Rockets and the 1996-1997 Bulls.

Pretty sure he said toughest. That doesn't have to equate to losing the series. Did you have a lobotomy?

Bro the 1999-2000 Lakers were a were a way animal than that 03-04 team featuring over the hill Karl Malone and Gary Payton who needed to be put out to pasture. I personally saw that Lakers team play. They were legit
