South Shore Little League skipper Bob Laterza was looking forward to his boys meeting their idols before Sunday Night Baseball's New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers game. The outspoken skipper, who says his team of New Yorkers was promised a special meet-and-greet, met with some of the Yankees, but was disappointed in Aaron Judge's participation...

While Yankees players DJ LeMahieu and Tim Hill showed up -- not many others did. Laterza noted that Yankees stars Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes and Jasson Dominguez, as well as manager Aaron Boone and former outfielder Nick Swisher, met with the team later on at Bowman Field, but there was still one notable omission, in particular.

Laterza admitted his boys were bummed to miss out on the big man, who he alleges never showed face with his team, despite being seen with others. They had hoped that their seats behind home plate would allow them an interaction with him in the on-deck circle, but Laterza says No. 99 ignored the youths bellowing his name from some 10 to 20 feet away.

“How about turning around or wave to New York and the kids that think you’re a hero?” chimed Laterza. “They are the ones who pay your salary. They were disappointed,” he added. “Maybe he’ll want to make up for it and come and see them.”

So Judge signed autographs for lots of the LLWS players before Sunday's game but this coach is throwing a fit because Judge didn't spend one on one time with his team just because they are from Staten Island? I don't follow baseball much but I don't remember ever hearing complaints about Judge being a jerk. This sounds like it is more about the coach being entitled.

“They are the ones who pay your salary”

How stupid is this guy? They’re kids and don’t have jobs and don’t pay anyone’s salary because they have no money.

Teach your kids to be grateful for those that did give them their time and to not disrespect them by crying that you wish someone else did

If they are sitting at Yankee stadium... Yeah but this is the kid's field. A little head nod, a little acknowledgement isn't too terribly much to ask. Though I do think the " pay your salary" bit is abit much. But who wouldn't want to make a kids day by acknowledging their fandom

The whole point of having a game there is for the kids to get to interact with the big leaguers. For that dude to not show up…that’s shitty. I hate the Yankees and anyone that plays for them unconditionally so personally I’m not surprised by this. Scum bags.

Jesus...scum bags? How are we supposed to teach our kids to not act entitled when everyone whines because a famous guy didn't behave in a very specific way?
