Not defending what he said, but I do agree that they they say in sports to pretend officials aren't there...yet we've seen incidents that have impeded plays because of officials "being in the way".

Fitness tests should be administered at the head of every spring training for umpires.

These type of plays should be dead ball, replay the pitch
