Baton Rouge, La. – LSU soccer revealed its new crest on Friday morning, July 30.

The crest was developed in house by LSU’s creative staff and will be on jerseys later this fall. The crest includes LSU lettering, two Fleur-de-lis, the Tiger head, and has vertical bars behind the Tiger head that represent LSU’s core values and the four main components of the game.

The LSU lettering sits at the top of the crest as it makes Louisiana’s flagship university stand out. The Tiger head is centered below that as it represents LSU’s deeply rooted traditions that bring us together and a unique culture that sets us apart.

The two Fleur-de-lis are in the top left and top right corners. Those two Fleur-de-lis represent the Passion & Pride for the state of Louisiana. The passion is relentless pursuit of victory and a legacy of champions, while the pride is a love four our state, our community, and our school that is unrivaled.

The five gold pillars at the bottom represent LSU soccer’s core values – Growth, Effort, Attitude, Unity, Xcellence for the acronym of GEAUX. The four purple pillars at the bottom represent the four areas of the game of soccer – technical, tactical, physical, and psychological.

"Xcellence" - sometimes an acronym just isn't there. Otherwise, I like the crest.
