On Wednesday, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin sarcastically responded to a tweet from College Basketball Writer Isaac Trotter, who pointed out the staggering impact that the transfer portal has had on "Senior Night" celebrations.

According to Trotter, there are 22 high-major scholarship players who will celebrate Senior Night this week who have played at just one school, which is alarming.

I know the whole education part is a sham, but how can you legitimately complete a curriculum changing schools every year?

I mean it’s been that way a long time for the big time sports.

The education part is only a scam bc most players come from a community that teaches them to not care bout school. Which is stupid bc most these kids won’t make it professionally and that free education they decided to disregard will come handy then. Meanwhile Most kids have to bust their arse to pay their way through school.

I wonder how effective Lane would have been at ole miss without the portal?

It's really pathetic. NCAA needs to limit this. I agree with CLK with this. I just hope he doesn't piss off the NCAA

Perhaps someone should provide statistics on the number of transfers who competed with other teams prior to the Transfer Portal being initiated.

Glad to see the “portal king” airing his true feelings about the system.

Basically the same as the Texas tech boosters. “We all think the system is terrible but if it’s in our favor why not use it.”

You criticize Lane for doing the best he can, given a system that he did not create?
user avatar
Should he not use it to our advantage?

Kiffin has shown he can adapt and evolve. He’s not nearly the same guy he was when he took the Tennessee job. LSU is potentially set-up to get him for the prime career period in his life. Unless the NFL itch shows up….

You work with the tools you’re given. You don’t have to like it, you just have to succeed.
