Report: The SEC Has Finalized Punishments For Programs That Play Ex-Professional Athletes

Actually I’m pretty tired of these bogus moral stands. If anyone thinks college athletes aren’t already professionals then you have your head in the sand. So we have a court of law saying what the NCAA is doing is unfair so the SEC decides they are going to double down and say we don’t care whether it’s fair, we aren’t doing it. What difference does it make? It’s only one year and the players that are involved are marginal NFL players at best.

Soooo whos gonna tell them half of college basketball is European pros... I guess no SEC school will have coaches for the season?? Wjat about the baseball guys who went pro in highschool and come back at 26 to be QB in college....

These fools allowed minor league baseball players to come back to the damn college to play different sports for freaking decades playing til upwards of 30 years old and nobody gave a damn, even the people watching the damn sport and whining now. European pros are all in the damn college basketball world too. All this hypocritical bullshite really irks me.

How much more of a "professional athlete" is a kid that played three years in college, declared for the NFL after his Junior year, went undrafted but signed a free agent contract with an NFL team but got cut before the season compared to a Max Johnson who is now entering his 7th, yes 7th year of college football?

This could give the weaker conferences a chance to capitalize on an opportunity. Imagine if Tulane decided to load up on NFL guys and became good enough to win a playoff game. The SEC and Big Ten would change their tune. One door closes…

I saw yesterday where they only listed football and men’s and women’s basketball. Did they make adjustments to include other sports or is it only those 3 since they’re the main ones(only ones)that make money?
