Two great men worked together to make another great man. Mr Helaire deserves kudos for standing strong and setting a high standard. Mr Edwards deserves kudos for overcoming his obstacles and meeting that standard. Real life teamwork

His bio dad never loved him any less either. The sentences assigned for certain crimes throughout the US are BS. So glad to see both of his dads are pulling for him to succeed, and that they bear no animosity toward each other. This whole family is wonderful!

I totally agree with Swamp Angel on these sentences for drug offenders. The point is to rehabilitate not cage human beings for decades for a mistake that probably came from struggles. Now some people need to be in those places but you can typically see who those are after 1 to 3 years. It’s a fine line but I still think creating a war on drugs is the worst things they could have done. People are either going to gravitate toward drugs, grow out of it or never even attempt them in the first place no matter what you do. Sending people who are trying to advance them selves that way or trying to use these drugs to prison for decades isn’t the answer for sure. Many of those people may have turned things around had they been helped instead of caged. Show them that there’s a better way to live life. Show them how rewarding life can be sober. Give them that high and they may never turn back to anything else bc there’s nothing better. Once they figure that out then you’ve changed them.

I went to middle school with Clyde Sr. and he was a helluva RB! He wore #22 too. I have no doubts Clyde Sr. could've been an SEC running back as well. My mother taught at the elementary school Clyde Jr. went to and she would tell me how smart and respectful Clyde Jr. is . My family is so proud of Clyde Jr. and his family. Great story.

As someone who had a biological and step Father who adopted me, this story resonates big time. Makes me connect on a more emotional level with Clyde, now one of my all time favorite Tigers. Just love this guy.
