NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently spoke with five NFL executives to ask them which 2018 Draft prospects have the most riding on their combine interviews later this month.

Two of them picked UCLA's Josh Rosen, two picked LSU's Arden Key, and the last one picked Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield. Per NFL.com:
quote:

Executive 3: LSU edge rusher Arden Key
"Key really needs to explain what happened last offseason and talk about where he is now. He was the biggest disappointment of the 2017 season."

Executive 4: Key
"People have to meet the person and see if he can explain everything that's happened over the last two years. He needs to gain the trust of the decision makers. When right, he's a special talent."
Key set the single-season school sack record (12) in 2016 as a sophomore but took a personal leave of absence from the team last offseason and missed five games in 2017, recording just 4 sacks.

The Georgia native is currently preparing for the NFL Combine in Phoneix, AZ.

Key ‘s apology for the 2017 season was his agent’s opening strategy to explaining but there will be many questions and Key better be honest or his draft status will drop ........ And if he BS’s he may be 8 balled.....

Guys I’d like to know who gave Arden advice last year on how to approach his play . He should banish that individual from his life ,because they’ve cost him and his family millions of dollars in a signing bonus and or a first round selection for himself .

Based on the way it all played out, I think Key can thank himself for the way it played out last season. No one told him he should come back fat and out of shape. NFL does research, and they wont tolerate losing big money for a guy with questionable work ethic.

He has known this was coming for a long time. Time to pay the piper.

Physically a 1st rounder, mentally a free agent.

I just don’t think there’s anything he could possibly say that is gonna sell anybody. There’s just not a good reason to justify leaving the team for that amount of time.

...and then coming back overweight and out of shape.

i think most of the fans would like to know as well. Went from being the number 1 pick in this years draft to maybe not even being picked in the first round.NFL teams now question his dedication and work ethic. Not something you want going into NFL interviews.

Arguably, Key was on a Myles Garrett trajectory talent-wise, and in theory, could've been the #1 overall pick. Now, combine interviews could determine if he stays or drops out the first round. SMDH
