Paul Finebaum did not hold back when discussing his weekly interviews with former LSU head coach Brian Kelly.

Speaking at Barrett Media’s Audio Summit, Finebaum recalled interviewing Kelly for 20 minutes every Monday during the college football season for three consecutive years.

He described the conversations as so painful that he would “rather have a colonoscopy on the stage right now without anesthesia.”
quote:

“A couple years ago, Nick Saban started doing Pat McAfee every week, so we got a call from LSU and Brian Kelly saying he wanted to do our show every week,” Finebaum said.

“Now I don’t know if any of you know Brian Kelly. Spending 20 minutes with Brian Kelly for three consecutive years every Monday? I think I would rather have a colonoscopy on the stage right now without anesthesia. It’s that painful.”

“So there’s always a trade-off, and we bought it and ended up dying with it,” he joked.

“But then there’s Lane Kiffin,” Finebaum added. “I’ve had a couple of interviews with Lane Kiffin that people say are unlike anything they’ve ever seen, not because he’s really a good interview, but because he’s just so bizarre.”

Dude is a two faced gollum. There was nothing wrong with CBK's interviews with him.

When you run into an a-hole one morning, you just ran into an a-hole. If you run into assholes all day long, you might be Paul Finebaum.

Pawl Finebaum’s problem is that he never understood that he is a Jerry Springer ringmaster type of character who is supposed to let the lunatic SEC people be the star of the show. He can’t help but delude himself into believing he is some kind of serious journalistic figure, or an interesting person on his own merits, which he absolutely is not. That is why his later work will never have any true artistic merit as his old radio show in Birmingham did when it was at its best.

Even if true a professional doesn't come out and say this.

I’m sure the feeling is mutual. How did this clown become the media voice of the SEC?

Stupidity at ESPN and you can bet that the SEC office had a say in the decision. Face it, Sankey is a terrible commissioner. A total rube and he has the personality of tree bark.

One of the few positive things BK did was always fricking with finebaum during the interviews. Clearly pawl didnt take kindly to that

ironic, when i think of anything PF related, it closely resembles those memories of a colonoscopy.

That's honestly pretty low to allow him on your show every week then come back with this here to say how painful he was to interview. You allowed him on your show every week for ratings but then you're going to rip him like this? Not defending BK because I dislike him too, but I never understood why anyone likes this big-eared prick. Since we're on the topic of painful, my ears bleed if I tried to listen to your show Pawl.

Agreed…Paul interviewed him because he thought it would be interesting. Then he turns the tables and insults him.

Paul's opinion does not mean a damn thing. He is a joke. He sucks bama homer dong daily. PF gets it wrong most of the time. His show sucks.

People who trust in Finebaum's level of B.S. deserve what they get.

Paul is full of crap. They thought Kelly would surely win a national champoinship, so they wanted to follow the team. When he didn’t have the sucess they thought, there was not so much to talk about. However, the interviews were just fine.

Honestly, I'm sure the feeling was mutual, PAWL. Kiffin went from endearing to weird because he chose the better school, too.

I bet BK would rather a colonoscopy also.
