John Brice of USA Today recently interviewed former LSU head coach Brian Kelly and asked if he had any advice for his successor, Lane Kiffin.

His advice was simple: "Just be Lane Kiffin."

quote:

“Lane doesn’t need advice,” said Kelly, who’s faced off against Kiffin in the Notre Dame-USC and LSU-Ole Miss rivalries. “He’s seen it from the NFL to SC to building a program... I don’t think I’m telling him anything he doesn’t know.

“The world we live in today, Michigan just won a basketball championship with five transfers. You can do it, but there are so many moving pieces. I don’t think he needs any advice. I think you just continue to be who you are. I think that's all you can be. People are going to judge you based upon what they think, anyways. So, just be Lane Kiffin."

When it all boils down, I think Kelly is of the same cloth as Saban. They don't want to deal with the nil. Saban realized it and retired. I think Kelly realized it but unfortunately he had no national championships hanging on his wall. He had to keep going. When he didn't win it all with Jaden, I think he just gave up.

The perfect response from a person that is asked for advice but doesn't have any to give.

"Don't be lazy on the job like me. Don't ignore recruits, be arrogant, or decide to go golfing. In other words, don't be like Brian Kelly with his time at LSU."

He got stuck with NussBust. BK would have done better with a different qb.

All that money and chances are they’ll lose 3-5 games. Gonna be some disappointment for sure

BK lives rent free in some of your minds. Let IT GO, Let him go. Some employees just don't work out, and he didn't. We are picking up the pieces. If Kiffen sucks in Sept, we will build a special complaint board designed just for "HATING ON BK" as well as mentionaing that Kiffen is worse. And you can just go there and shite blast him constantly sending your hate mail to him.

Absolutely true. Get over it. BK is one of the best coaches that have ever coached college football. You don’t win 300 games by accident. He just didn’t work for us. Personally don’t think his methods work in the new NIL system. But yall need to get over it.

Sure as shite doesn't need any advice from you, and if you give it he better do the opposite
user avatar

So Lane Kiffin should do the opposite of being Lane Kiffin, which is what BK advised?

why are you simping for BK?

Simping for BK? BK was asked a question, and he gave a good answer. Nothing more than that. Simping?

Obviously the reporter, since he asked BK the question.

How can BK advise Lane when your arse was just canned for the HC job. LK needs to advise BK to stay out of the SEC, he was in culture shock and wanted to bolt on day one. Show me the money and I'm out of here!

Brian Kelly was asked a question. He answered.
