LSU head coach Les Miles landed at No. 4 on CBS Sports Power Five college football coach rankings.

Here is the top 10:

1. Nick Saban, Alabama
2. Urban Meyer, Ohio State
3. Bob Stoops, Oklahoma
4. Les Miles, LSU
5. Gary Patterson, TCU
6. Steve Spurrier, South Carolina
7. Mark Richt, Georgia
8. Jimbo Fisher, Florida State
9. Jim Harbaugh, Michigan
10. Gus Malzahn, Auburn
quote:

4. Les Miles, LSU: Do I think Les is a bit overrated here? Yes, yes I do. If he wasn't the cartoon character that is Les Miles, he'd no doubt drop a notch or two, but you know what? He's still been an excellent coach throughout his career. He helped reverse Oklahoma State's fortunes before taking over at LSU, and since going to Baton Rouge he's won 78 percent of his games. One of those games was a BCS National Championship Game in 2007 (one of the 22 percent he lost was a BCS NCG game in 2011 as well). The Mad Hatter has been both mad and successful.

Stoops and Spurrier should be much lower. Richt and Fisher should be higher.

Stoops has under performed for over 10 years straight. Spurrier hasn't been a great coach in 20 years. I guess the moral is, there are not a lot of good coaches.

Les Miles #4? What have they been watching. This guy sucks. He's not a top 15 coach

My bad. Miles has won 78% of his games. Still impressive in my eyes.

Fornellie made a comment about saban winning 77 SEC games is enough to make a persons head explode, but said Miles has 78 and he didn't make that big of a deal about it. I know the championships are what has separated saban from Miles, but it didn't seem to me that Miles was given enough credit for his body of work at LSU. He thinks Les is a "bit overrated"? I disagree with his assessment.

why isn't mark dantonio on this list? he's been just as good as miles over the past 5 seasons. his record since 2010 is 53-14. msu is 4-1 in bowl games, winning the last four.

miles is 52-14 and 2-3 in bowl appearances.
i'd rank dantonio over miles, stoops, and spurrier.

If going by resume you can't deny that Miles is a top 5 coach, that said, he has no excuses this year to not win 10 or 11 games. We should also be playoff bound in 2016 with competent QB play and experience everywhere.

Reading some of the stuff from the contract extensions, he might retire after the 2016 season, so go out with a bang Les.

I tend to agree with this for the most part. Miles should be ahead of Stoops though and Malzahn should be higher
