NFL Draft Analyst Todd McShay was on ESPN's "Get Up" this week and explained why he gave LSU quarterback Joe Burrow a 94-point grade, just one-point short of the 'elite' tier. Per 247Sports:
quote:

“If you just looked at this year’s tape, I’d agree with you, he’s in that elite tier,” McShay said. “But he went from a third, fourth-rounder a year ago to the second tier in my tier rankings and a 94 grade. It puts him ahead of Tua Tagovailoa and ahead of a lot of elite quarterbacks that have been in the NFL before. I love him just as much as you. Just going through the rankings, he was one point off.”

McShay is like a worse version of Mel Kiper Jr. At least Kiper is odd and interesting in a weird way. McShay just tries too hard to be serious and is wrong a lot.

A "grade" from McShay??? Burrow doesn't remember enrolling that non-player-phony's School for Quarterbacks. LOL

Joe doesn't care. Lol.

The greatest statistical QB in the history of NCAA college football is not elite. Right??? That's like the Russian judge not giving a 10 because nobody's perfect in their minds.

his point is stupid. if you watch any, and i mean ANY film analysis of burrow, his fb instincts are off the charts good. every video i've watched of him by experts, they are raving about how incredible he is between the ears and what all he's doing presnap. nevermind that his physical tools are really good too. the whole point about last year blows up when you look at completion % for passes beyond 10 yards. he was really really good last year too. better than haskins for that particular stat

The title of this is misleading. McWrong makes a statement of "he was one point off" with no explanation to back it up. He just doesn't want to admit what everyone else knows, that he is wrong.

In that photo, O looks like he is a big fan of McHater...

McShay... one of those soy boys who can't Man Up and say, "I was wrong"

Arguably one of the best if not the best college quarterback ever and this idiot can't come up with an elite status? Oh wait he does work for and at ESPN doesn't he? Well that explains it!

Why are they so critical of LSU players??? It boggles me. Look what they did to Greedy Williams and are now doing to Grant Delpit. It's pitiful.

Meh. I’m as big a Tiger fan as any. But Greedy had a bad attitude the back half of his last season and even though he won the Thorpe award (more of a lifetime achievement trophy now) Delpit faced some criticism for having peaks and valleys in his game this year.

Kreg Jennings - The kid from Oklahoma should have won the Jim Thorpe award and not Grant Delpit. I'm a Grant Delpit and LSU fan, but Delpit was inconsistent throughout the whole season. He will make a fine safety in the pros once they give him better coaching, LSU did about as much with him as they could. Now it's the pros turn to finish upgrading him and rounding out his skills and talent to turn him into a really great Free Safety, he has excellent range to become one.

Well to be fair to Delpit, he was banged up most of the year this year and had no real help at the safety position until Mo developed enough after Harris went down.

No logic to his logic !!! He’s full of sh1t ...

He graded Jameis as elite....so there's that.

Like James is elite, even in college. Not compared to Joe. Oh well to each his own and Joe will prove him wrong!!! #GeauxTigers #9 JoeBurrow

McShay is an arse clown.

The greatest single season performance by a college QB and the best single college football team ever (the 2019 LSU) are eating the lunch of the media losers. And, that's part of the joy. Geaux Tigers.

If the greatest QB in the history of NCAA football isn’t an elite QB, who tf is?

Go watch Chase Young in their Clemson game. No sacks, 2 total tackles. No tackles for loss. He was effectively shut out in OSU's game against their best opponent. Is it elite when you do not show up against your best opponent? Remind me, who shut Joe down???? Oh.....yeah no one.

Hell Chaisson had a better game vs Clemson than Young

Watch the game closely man Clemson was doubling/ tripling him, running options to his side, getting the ball out much faster than usual, etc etc all bc of his presence

Can we guess which college team he loves? Playing for his favorite team would have put him at 100
