Three Of Five NFL Executives Prefer Leonard Fournette Over Ezekiel Elliott

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah reached out to five executives to ask them which player would they rather have on their roster: Ezekiel Elliott or Leonard Fournette?

Three out of five picked Fournette.

"Fournette is faster and he can hold his speed longer than Elliott. Elliott was further along as a blocker and receiver at Ohio State, but I thought Fournette made some small improvements in those areas this year."

Executive 2: Elliott
"Zeke is more versatile and would fit in any offense. Fournette is a stronger, more violent runner but there is more uncertainty with him, mainly pass protection. By the way, look at Zeke's numbers vs. Alabama and compare them to Fournette's."

Executive 3: Fournette
"I really like Elliott, but Fournette is an animal. Guys like him don't come around very often."

Executive 4: Elliott
"Fournette is a physical stud, but Zeke is just a better all-around football player."

Executive 5: Fournette
"You don't see guys with Fournette's size/speed combination very often. He's a rare, rare talent. He's the most talented runner to come out since Adrian Peterson."

Fournette missed five games this season due to lingering ankle injury but still managed to rush for 843 yards and eight TDs.

youncan forget it if he go to cleveland browns lolol. his injuries will occur right and left and might not have a full healthy season. browns need a qb, they need a pass rusher, they need a damn good offensive line, they need a few good wide receivers, they need a good hc with a game plan, they need a new defensive coordinator, browns needs a pass rusher, at least a couple of those guys, and some good lbers and safetys cause their whole roster just about is bad, about the whole staff is bad so lf7 going to cleveland would do no good for cleveland or leonard.

It's the whole Barry Sanders vs. Emmit Smith debate again. How many more yards would Sanders had gotten, had he had Smith's offensive line to run behind blah, bah, blah?? Elliot is good, but he does have a great line, Jason Witten, Dez Bryant , and the Cowgirls lucked out with Prescott. So yes, Elliot should get that many yards. Fournette played in mostly a 1950's offense at LSU. He was basically the play book. Most teams stacked the box against him and he still ripped off a ton of yards. Of course Alabama stopped him , because they have elite players at every position and they didn't need to worry about a passing game. Elliot lucked out because the Cowgirls picked 4th, they weren't bad on offense talent wise, but got that record because injury to Qb. It also helped, that Dallas by virtue of a crap season the previous year, they get a very easy schedule. I realize they started two rookies, but look at the competiton. They played the Browns, Bears, Bengals, Ravens, and 49ers. Elliot should have racked up a ton of yards.

I would take either one in a heartbeat! Fournette behind a stud o-line with a passing game to boot, would be unbelievable! However, he will be drafted by a crappy team like Cleveland and toil away until he hits free agency in 4 years. Elliot has really impressed me this year and proves my point. Great o-line and productive passing game. Elliot has been the beneficiary of both. To his credit, he has taken full advantage and should continue to excel. Flip a coin!

People kill me making their comparison based on performances against Alabama. Last time I checked one running had the threat of a passing game vs Alabama which made the run more of a threat, the other had no passing threat which allowed Alabama to put 7 in the box and dare them to throw. Come on man! LF7!

I, too, could acquire only 30-or-whatever yards running against Alabama with the offensive line performance Leonard had to deal with. Can't compare RB's when one is allowed to be hit at/behind the LOS. Please stop talking about the gump games. They mean nothing as far as Leonard's ability.

So LF has no performance to back up his potential? He was the only SEC running back in 50 years to lead the country in yards per game. He had great performances against EVERY FBS opponent he faced healthy minus Alabama. Who he still put up 80 on as a freshman

And if you are talking about NFL production... well obviously he isn't in the league yet. Check out D Murrays yards per game and yards per attempt since leaving Dallas' OL btw, where he so happened to be the leagues leading rusher as well.

Looking at the draft order and a few mock drafts it seems like most have the Panthers leaning towards Dalvin Cook over LF. If they take Cook and LF is still on the board then I would love to see LF go to the Colts. I think he would fit nicely in Philly as well but hands down the best outcome would be Seattle, I doubt he falls all the way to #27 but he could become BeastMode 2.0 and absolutely wreck the NFL for years. But as TigerPimp points out i desperately pray that LF isnt drafted by the Panthers or even worse the Falcons. That would be a fate worse than death to tey and root for LF but hoping he doesnt win a game all year Lol!!!

Welp one just ran for 1600 yards in the NFL and is ALL PRO the second one couldn't stay on the field in college. I'd say one has the upper edge so far.

well as a cowboys fan I aint gone lie im "Gucci" with zeke. 1631 yds. with only 12 carries in last two games. he may not be fournette but he good enough for us. I have saw zeke get hit and carry three men for another 5 yds. offensive line is great but that boy run hard az hell. check out that 4th quarter run against tampa bay with 2 mins left to go I think he had 4 cats trying to tackle him. he is special!
