Brian Kelly and the LSU coaching staff received some great news Wednesday night when senior defensive lineman Ali Gaye announced that he is returning to the team next season.
Gaye entered the 2021 season as a potential mid-round NFL Draft pick but suffered a season-ending injury vs. Kentucky on Oct. 9. He finished the season with 19 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and one pass defended.
Gaye's return in 2022 will help boost LSU's talented defensive line that features BJ Ojulari, Maason Smith, Jaquelin Roy, Joe Evans, Jacobian Guillory, Bryce Langston, Soni Fonua, and Zavier Carter.
The Tigers also signed four-star defensive end Quency Wiggins in December and landed Missouri defensive tackle transfer Mekhi Wingo this week.
