C. Morgan Engel-USA TODAY Sports
LSU athletic director Scott Woodward reportedly pursued Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher up until the end of LSU's search with an 8-year, $125 million deal that would pay him $13 million a year.

These numbers were first reported by Billy Liucci of TexAgs and then by Brett McMurphy of the Action Network.

Fisher was making $7.5 million this year and will earn $9 million in 2022.

Brian Kelly's new 10-year contract at LSU will start at $9 million in the first year and increase over time up to $10 million, plus incentives.

Thank God we have Brian Kelly. Never wanted Jimbo. Fate intervened and LSU will benefit greatly.

How many millions would it take you to walk back that statement “I’d have to be the dumbest guy on god’s green Earth.?” The meme’s would have been worth it.

So stupid as report by Texags which I assume is dumb website run out of someone’s parents basement

LSU said at the beginning did they speak to him sure was there serious interest on either side no…. This is a narrative aggies are creating to make themselves feel better after losing again to LSU this time a team of 3rd teamers and a fired coach

I have some Aggie coworkers from the Houston area and they are still at full meltdown over the loss to LSU. This story is just one more Aggie attempt to find something to be positive about regarding LSU. Lol.

How dumb would it be for LSU to throw that kind of money at a coach who just lost to a LSU team that had no head coach? The optics, if that happened, would have been terrible.

Reported by an Aggie trying to make people think LSU really wanted their coach and we got turned down. Can't beat LSU on the field so they live for the offseason victories.
