Report: Les Miles "Extremely Interested" In Ole Miss Job

Houston and Perdue said no. I guess Ole Miss as a Power 5 is below Houston and Perdue. CLM would take any Power 5 school that would hire him right now.

That would be pretty cool watching Bo Schembechler's 1980's smash mouth football replays again starring Less Miles.... . bring out the old electric vibrating football game again.... popcorn, get your popcorn.... yes indeed....

I think this would be a perfect fit for Miles; by and large Ole Miss is never expected to compete for a NC, so if he won 7,8, or 9 games a season, maybe make an occasional new years bowl, ran a clean program (which Ole Miss desperately needs right now) he could probably finish his coaching career there. He's 64, so give him 6-7 years in Oxford and call it a career. Why not?

WOW this is literally going to be the backfire of the century. LSU gets the washed-up coordinator and OM gets the winningest coach of all time at LSU. Heeeeyyy but at least Orgeron is Cajun and likes boudin lolzzzzz

I can tell you that this rumor has state of Mississippi buzzing today....I am at a convention and probably heard 40 people mention it. I hope to hell it is not true.

Miles is interested in any school willing to hire him at this point. There's a simple reason why he has not been hired. THE MAN IS NOT A GOOD COACH! LSU is on a only a few teams in the country that has the talent to match up with Alabama on a consistent yearly basis. Bama has a winning streak because LSU gets consistently out coached. Most teams use different schemes weekly to exploit opponents weaknesses. LSU runs the same plays every week. How often do you see LSU have long drives. There non existent! 99% of LSU's scores are big (30+) yard plays. It had to be this way Because Cam and Miles' philosophy was run, run, incomplete pass, punt. Bama is not a team you will score consistently on huge plays. LSU's inability to sustain drives is why LSU has this losing streak. That is a direct reflection of the coaching. That's a direct reflection of Les Miles' coaching ability and philosophy. Almost every school in the country knows this. That's why Les Miles is still unemployed as a Head Coach. If Ole Miss hires him it is because of desperation and they have absolutely no other options.

I think Les would be a great tv personality.

Les has made it known he wants to coach. If offered, he would and should take the job and try and rebuild a program. If successful, he would certainly prove he's a good coach and administrator. Unfortunately for Les, I don't see any of these things happening. Too many lower tier schools have passed on him. I believe his future lies in broadcasting. Maybe pair him with Mark May and pick up where he and Dr. Lou left off. That would be entertaining!

I'm extremely interested but that makes me about as qualified as Les.

I am really hoping Les doesn't go anywhere. I hope he stays in BR and becomes a great LSU personality and advocate. As the years go by, I can see people really warming up to him and his legacy.

Come on man, lets be real Les will never coach again. That ship has sailed,no one wants that clown. Great guy great family man but just cannot coach.

Les is better than this situation. I'd hate for him to ruin his reputation by coaching during sanctions. I don't see how anyone can truly succeed at OM right now. The NCAA mess is just too big. But if he wants to coach then he wants to coach. I just think it's bad situation to walk into.

Les has to put out press release stories like this to make it look like he's actively looking for another job.

Les is interested is any college job,the question is whether good programs hire him. Southern would be the best fit for him.

Les recruited well. Wouldn't want him that close to LSU with all his in-state connections.
