Former LSU assistant head coach, running back coach, and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson is returning to Baton Rouge to join Brian Kelly's staff at LSU, according to Ross Dellenger with Sports Illustrated.

Wilson will serve as Associate Head Coach.

The 48-year old New Orleans native was at LSU from 2010-2015 and left to become the head coach at UTSA from 2016-2019 and then McNeese State from 2020-2021.

There is no one, and I mean no one that recruits New Orleans and other areas in Louisiana better than Frank Wilson. His relationship with high school coaches is superb, and he belongs at LSU.

He really didn't do anything as a head coach at McNeese or UTSA but I guess he will be the new recruiting czar.

One could argue Frank was pretty instrumental in building the roster that went 11 - 1 at UTSA this year. Pretty solid.

He pretty much built what UTSA is right now (11-1 this season). Dude laid serious groundwork there. Not sure he was at McNeese long enough to really evaluate.
