Willson Alexander of The Advocate reported Thursday that former LSU safety Jacoby Stevens has returned to the team as a staff member on the defense.

Stevens played at LSU from 2017–2020 and was key piece in the secondary during the National Championship season in 2019, per NOLA.com:

Former LSU safety JaCoby Stevens has returned to the team as a staff member and was working with the defensive coaches on the first day of preseason practice Thursday.

Stevens played at LSU from 2017-2020, helping the Tigers win a national championship. He wore No. 7 as a senior before being drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Stevens was cut by the Eagles during training camp last August and had not been resigned.

I would have wished for him to have had a better run in the NFL I know many of his teachers from HS they couldn’t say enough nice things about him.

Great coaches are
multiculturally sensitive and are humanitarians. They understand winning is a lifestyle, you never quit on your team and you will never lose your locker room.

This headline says, “ Report: Former National CHAMPIONSHIP
Safety JaCoby Stevens Has Joined LSU's
Staff” BK is the Coach. Great leaders know how to pick great leaders. Check the records. What college coach lead his team on a
march to his college President office and who won the 2020 Championship?

The championship was 2019 moron. The 2020 season was awful. JaCoby led the 2020 team.

Stevens was a poor leader on the 2020 team. He led the player walkout of practice to the president’s office. He was more interested in being a SJW than having a winning football team. I’m not excited by this hire.

He got the entire team to agree on something? Sounds like a damn strong leader to me.

Not agreeing with someone’s politics doesn’t mean someone is a bad leader. I’m not excited by your lame post.

So happy for him he has a great coach to mentor him rn and he stays at the sport he loves, I really hoped he was going to make it as a LB in the league, all good he made some money and now about to get mentored in the best way by Kelly and co

Jacoby should be an asset to the secondary and the Tigers!

As a player he had strong character, was a motivator, a leader, and a great communicator. Very happy for him and for the team to have him.

Thought the same thing when I heard him in all his interviews in 2019. Took him a while to find his place on the field but the dude was always a great leader and communicator.

This guy was a monster. I'm a little surprised the NFL didn't work out for him, and am glad he's coming home.

Absolutely correct, Mac! Baskerville, Faulk, & many more stars @ LSU were tweeners!

Pretty sure that was Amari Rodgers he crushed. But glorious, none the less. The way he flew back I was in the stands going “great, targeting” but it was just a nasty hit
