by Staff Reporter
December 7, 202111 Comments
Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports
Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports and The Athletic is reporting that Notre Dame special teams coordinator Brian Polian is joining Brian Kelly's staff at LSU.
The 46-year old coach has been the special team's coordinator at Notre Dame since 2017. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Nevada from 2013-2016.
Before taking the Nevada job, Polian was the special team's coordinator and tight ends coach at Texas A&M during the 2012-2013 season.
Polian's father is former NFL executive Bill Polian.
The Polian hire means that LSU special teams coordinator Greg McMahon will not be retained. McMahon was hired by Ed Orgeron in 2017.
