Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy told the Tulsa World on Tuesday that if the Cowboys would of played LSU in the 2011 National Championship, they would have won by three touchdowns:
quote:

If OSU’s 2011 Big 12 championship team had been matched with LSU in the BCS title game, Gundy said, “I don’t think there’s any question that we would have won by three touchdowns. ... We could score with anybody."
Oklahoma State fell out of the title hunt in 2011 when they lost to Iowa State 37-31 in overtime at the end of the season. The Cowboys ended up playing Stanford in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and won 41-38.

Only losers include the word "if" in statements related to sports. Of course, Gundy is a known loser without uttering any word.

Seriously, LSU should have played OSU for NC. They were conference champs with the second best record in the nation. I don't care what bama claims, they had their chance to win the conference but lost at home. What bothers me the most is that if it were the other way around, LSU losing to bama by a field goal, I'm convinced LSU wouldn't have been given the same opportunity. It would have been bama OSU for NC game guaranteed. I don't recognize that as a legitimate win for bama, nor do I see it as a loss for LSU. It's just marked with injustice!

LSU beat every team on the schedule in 2011 at least once. LSU was 13-1 and Alabama was 12-1. IF USC doesn't have to abide by the rules in 2003 then I don't have to abide by the rules in 2011. LSU is 2011 National Champions.

Actually all he had to do was beat ISU by 1 point possibly a tie would have given him a chance to play LSU.

I agree with Gundy, his team would have beaten the LSU team that showed up against Bama. However, Gundy would not have played that team. Bama had the payback revenge edge in that game. We should never had played a team that did not even win their own division and had already lost to us. It is what it is.

If he had beaten ISU by 3 TD's he would have gotten his chance. That Okie st team would have been a 3 loss team in this conference and LSU would have had no trouble scoring at will. What a joke.

Wow. Talk about singing a different tune well after the fact. In the lead up to the SEC Championship game weekend, Nick Saban was everywhere talking up his team and advocating for Alabama to be placed in the BCS Championship game. Gundy, on the other hand, totally sandbagged his own program. In the week leading up to the OU/OSU game he stated that he would vote for Alabama over his own team. Of course his tune changed after they drubbed OU, but the damage was already done. Gundy conceded any claim to the championship game by failing to campaign until the 11th hour.

TL; DR - It's a chickenshit move to make a bold claim like this one four years after the fact when you were too meek to stump for your own team during the damn season.

His shite talk is four years too late. This bitch did not even campaign for his team to be in the championship game. If he had done so, they might have had a chance to prove his theory.
