At least this gets rid of the no quarterback excuse for O when we lose 5 games this year.

And yet Miles hot away with it for the last 5 years.

texastigerr, we had mettenberger in 2013. Miles lasted 2 seasons and 4 games after that, not 5 years.

I am a diehard Buckeye fan. That being said LSU just won the lottery. I have watched Joe Burrow for three years, and BELIEVE me he was way better than J.T.Barrett. He can read defenses, can run, has a great touch on the football, and can throw deep. I spent three years watching him in the spring games outplaying Barret, and he ROTTED on our bench. The kid NEVER any meaningful snaps with the first team in games. It was always mop up's with the second, and third teams. He in my opinion Burrow is the best quarterbck we have had in twenty years, and his two years of eligibility were wasted by Urban Meyer, who wouldn't know a quarterback if they kissed him. You are in for a treat once you see him play. Meyer LOVED J.T.Barretso much we were getting KILLED by Clemson, and Burrow rotted on the bench, and we didn't put a POINT on the board. Meyer went with Barret the WHOLE game. 30-0. Unbelievable, but true. He is better then Haskins, because Haskins can not run the football, where Burrow can. I wish Joe Burrow the best. I am now an LSU fan after the Buckeyes. Semper Fi

I came on your page to read what you had to say about Burrow. I hope what I said above comes true for Joe Burrow, because he is a good kid with a lot of talent. I will watch him every game, and hoefully you are pleased. I just wish he were starting for my Buckeyes. Meyer is going to look bad after this. Good luck this season.

Meyer was definitely blinded by JT. Maybe OSU fans will start to see the flaws in Meyer. His ethics are questionable. He burns out and when he does he abandons people.

I'm going to give this guy his fair chance to prove himself. He doesn't need to be hyped up. Just come in, ignore the hype and do your thing Joe. We do have the play makers and all we've been missing for years is a QB to compete at a high level and get the ball to them with some accuracy. This guy can do that and is all he needs to do. He doesn't need to carry the team he simply needs to play the position like its supposed to be played. I'm excited to see the results. Our young QBs actually need a guy like him to come in and give them time to grow. This shouldn't affect them at all. RS Myles Brennen and let him grow like he needs to. Same with LN. Let those two grow. GT

Seeing the coaches have only implemented 35% of the offense to the qbs already here he’s not that far behind.

I was born and raised in Ohio. I have a ton of friends that live and die OSU. They say this kid is the real deal. Said he got screwed over by not getting the starting job. This could be huge for LSU. With our size and speed at WR and TE we may finally have the firepower to contend/defeat the gumps.

There was a fair chance that if Meyer named Joey #1, that #2 and #3 would have transferred out. #2 Haskins has 3 years left, and #3 has 4 years left (both very good QB's). Just a log jam of QB talent. Haskins throws bullets, Burrow could, but he throws with way more timing and touch. He also "sells" the mis-direction on the RB handoffs as well as anyone I've seen. He also gets rid of the ball very fast. Like under 1.5 seconds average. Hell of a lot easier for the O-Line to defend 1.5 than 2 or 3 or 4 seconds. I've been waiting for years to watch this guy play for Ohio State. Just glad Joey is getting his shot at a big-time program. Go Tigers.

I am a diehard Buckeye fan, and Burrow SHOULD have been the starter last year. LSU just won the lottery with Joe Burrow. Been a Buckeye die hard all my life, and this kid can run, read defenses, and has a great touch on the football, and can throw the deep ball with accuracy. It will take alittle time to get used to new receivers, but I predict you will very pleased.

"Joey" is what friends and family call him. And his dad is called "Jimmy" by friends and family. Just thought I'd add that tidbit. Anyway, congrats to all you Tiger fans. I just added the SEC channel to watch my new second favorite football team. Say what you will about Ed Orgeron and the new OC, but they were smart and tough enough to go out and get the best QB in college football (IMHO). And looks like you have some awesome playmakers who just need someone to get them the ball. Joey will get it to them and quick. Go Tigers. Gonna be a fun ride.

I agree with you totally. Urban Meyer will regret this for the next two years. Joe Burrow is one of the best looking qurterbacks I have seen come to "The" Ohio State University in many years. Yet he rotted on the bench the last two years. He watched Barrett throw over receivers, and behind them constantly. Barrett looked great against inferior teams. Once he hit Iowa, Clemson, he showed his real colors. Five interceptions against Iowa, and Burrow never saw the field. 30-0 against Clemson Burrow never saw the field. LSU is getting a complete quarterback, who is a great kid. He can read defenses, quick release, throw with great touch on his passes, and throw the long ball with touch. Look at last years spring game and you will see. He lacks one thing. Real game experience, because of Meyer. Anyway LSU will be very pleased soon once they see him play. Just give him a little experienc. You have a keeper. I am going to get the SEC TV channel just to watch Joe.
