Multiple sources reported Monday that LSU leading wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is out for the season after suffering a lower leg injury in the Kentucky game.

The news, which was first reported by Matt Zenitz, was confirmed by head coach Ed Orgeron during his Monday press conference.

Boutte was off to a hot start this season with 38 receptions for 509-yards and nine touchdowns before the injury.

Csmins - he better than Burks, LSU receivers roll straight into the NFL. Only other school that competes with them is Bama of course.

If the injury is as serious as it appears, I believe he’s talking about next year as well.

There aren’t many receivers like Boutte around. It was a pleasure seeing him play the last two seasons, a true highlight in some games that were tough to watch.

At this point it doesn’t matter for LSU. Hopefully he does what he needs to do to get right.

O and Peetz weren't using him enough. He is a super star and we're throwing to all these other dudes.

Wut?

Peetz had no clue what he doing out there. This title is way over his head and recruiting plays a part in why the record is what it is. Orgeron does this to himself every year, have you ever seen lightning strike in a bottle? I have, happened in 2019 football season and lsu ran the table. That will never happen again under orgeron as the head man

If there was one player I would not accuse of using a minor injury to opt out, it would be boutte. I believe he really is hurt. Kid is a savage who gives it his all. This is a blow for the rest of the team down the stretch
