LSU junior quarterback Brandon Harris announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he will be transferring out of the program.

Head coach Ed Orgeron has granted him a full release, according to his announcement.

Harris was LSU's starting quarterback in 2015 but struggled towards the end of the season. He was replaced in week 2 of the 2016 season by Danny Etling who held on to the job for the next 10 games.

It is unclear at this time where Harris is transferring to and whether or not he will graduate from LSU before moving on.

I'm surprised he couldn't compete for the starting job. I wish him the best.

It saddens me that we as a Tiger family never saw this kids full potential due to Les Miles lack of Quarterback development and wanting to run the ball 65 times per game!

There is validity to what you said but Harris holds some responsibility as well. I'm sure he accepts that. Good luck. Hope he tears it up

Yep Miles and Cameron screwed him. He's got all the talent but most important for a QB is confidence and LM and CC didn't give him that. Hope he succeeds wherever he goes

Miles screwed him? Hillarious!! If anything Miles and Cam Cameron gave the guy more than enough opportunity to succeed. Brandon Harris failed because he can't pass accurately. He simply throws the ball high, low, late or behind 9 times oit of 10. You can coach players to a point but at some point they have to be the one who performs. I don't care what play is called it is up to the QB to do his job. Brandon Harris was simply not SEC material.

I think he's a great kid, but was given more than enough opportunity to achieve. He just wasn't an accurate enough passer against sec talent.

I think what truly hurt him was his poise in tha pocket. Under pressure when there was no pressure

Good luck, kiddo...but to everyone thinking it was all the coaches fault, need to rethink their thinking...when you cant hit a golf cart @ a passing camp, there are more issues than coaching...

The kid just wasn't accurate enough but Good luck in your future endeavors.

The best I remember him was the "almost" comeback against MsSt when he just got grown in and ran around using instinct. When forced to process the HC/OC mold he just seemed like a different player in a worse way.

Word on the street was that he's seen Narcisse throwing and doing drills and killing it not even at 100% yet and he saw the writing on the wall.

Man, I was hoping when he made the decision to come back, that he'd have some sort of redemption his Sr Year under Canada. He has talent, and I always thought it was a mental hurdle preventing him from succeeding. Good luck to the young man.
