LSU freshman wide receiver TaRon Francis has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to reports.

Francis, a former four-star prospect from Avondale, La. (Edna Karr High School), was rated the No. 20 wide receiver in the 2025 class.

He played in five games this past season, mainly on special teams, but did not record any stats.

This is insane. Is just every single year half the team gonna up and enter the portal? Starters and backups alike?

For a few years, until the rules change. Will you be able to go on until then? Let us know you're going to be alright.

Can’t fault Saban for getting out of the NIL shitshow, that’s for sure. What a massive headache for head coaches.

Such is the state of college football. At the end of the season, nearly every player on every team "enters the portal." What that means is they declare themselves "free agents" and open to the biggest bidder. If that happens to be their current team, so be it. Otherwise, they gone. Every year is a near complete reshuffle. A game of musical chairs. Some players will be left without a chair.

For fans, they no longer root for players, or even teams, they root for a jersey...whoever happens to be wearing it that year.

Didn’t record any stats, because we didn’t have anyone who could throw the ball to him. Good luck to this young man!
