Multiple sources are reporting that LSU freshman offensive lineman Donavaughn Campbell was arrested in Atlanta on the Georgia Tech campus early Sunday morning.

Campbell, who has played in three games this season, was visiting his brother who plays for Georgia Tech.

The Ponchatoula, LA native has been suspended from the team according to LSU team spokesman Michael Bonnette. Per The Advocate:
quote:

Campbell was charged with two counts of battery, both misdemeanors, after his arrest by Georgia Tech Police, according to a copy of the arrest report obtained by The Advocate. Campbell's brother is a defensive back at Georgia Tech. LSU was off this past week. The Yelllowjackets hosted Duke on Saturday.

According to the report, the event unfolded at the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity House at Georgia Tech at 12:21 a.m. CT Sunday. Two victims, both GT students, told police that they were punched in the face and head by two men. Campbell was arrested along with Georgia Tech safety Jalen Johnson, the report said. Johnson was booked with one count of simple battery.

If he was suspended, I doubt he was expected to be an impact player against Bama. He only played in 3 games this season anyway. Won't change the outcome of the game. Sorry Bama, y'all still in scalding hot water!

Judging by the comments in here only three things could have been possible in your life. You are so old you forgot what it was like to be 18-19, you have never been to a party where something got out of hand, or you are naive which sometimes gets mistaken for stupidity. At least he wasn't underage in a bar in Atlanta. Should have not even been a story.

Imagine that, a frat party fight. No major news coverage on white frat fights when it's white civilians vs. white players but when it comes to white frats having fights started supposedly by black people, media freaks the hell out and makes us know they fought. What the hell is this? Hopefully he will be good to play Sat. We need all the ammo we can get

pretty sure tiger droppings is not considered "major news coverage" ... and the only reason there is any coverage is because he is an athlete.

It's funny that Jalen Johnson is not suspended and Paul Johnson said based on currently available info he should not be suspended but are waiting for full investigation results. LSU knee jerking or do they treat things differently than G Tech?

Typical dumb comments. Arrest doesn't mean you are guilty. Are you people living in a bubble? Remember Godchaux was arrested? But was not guilty.

Quick to cast stones? Guy went to visit his brother and got into a fight in front of a frat house. Who knows what was said or done... Patience... Kid is 18 or 19 years old. I wasn't thinking things through at that age either...

O tolerance. Take a hike Donavaughn. Transfer to GT. Time to up the OL Recruiting Profile. Need to go nation wide (Like Bama does) for SEC Championship caliber OL's to protect Brennan.

Funny you should mention Bama...Bamas star OL was arrested on a felony gun charge and got in no trouble but you want to dismiss a freshman for a fight at a party.
