LSU has been fined $250,000 for violation of access to the competition area, the SEC announced on Sunday.
quote:

LSU will incur a fine of $250,000 for a third offense under the league's access to competition area policy. LSU was last fined for a violation following its football game against Georgia in 2018.

Fines levied against schools for violation of the access to competition area policy are deposited into the SEC Post-Graduate Scholarship Fund.

The policy states that "access to competition areas shall be limited to participating student-athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and properly-credentialed individuals at all times. For the safety of participants and spectators alike, at no time before, during or after a contest shall spectators be permitted to enter the competition area. It is the responsibility of each member institution to implement procedures to ensure compliance with this policy."

Financial penalties are imposed for violations in all sports sponsored by the Conference. Institutional penalties range from $50,000 for a first offense to fines of up to $100,000 for a second offense and up to $250,000 for a third and subsequent offenses. The policy was originally adopted by a vote of Conference members in 2004 and financial penalties were increased by action taken by the membership during the 2015 SEC Spring Meetings.

How embarrassing. A true humiliation after what was a big win.

Embarrassing to rush the field as a powerhouse program. Especially against a lowly program like Ole Miss. we always beat Ole Miss. I expect us to beat Ole Miss every year. Hardly something worth rushing the field for

Can't blame 'em for rushing the field. It's not often you beat a top ten Ole Miss team. (Hell, it's not often you even SEE a top ten Ole Miss team!)

So... that works out to a little over $2.00 per ticket sold for a full stadium's worth of fans. How much do tickets average these days? - Yeah, I'm pretty sure the cost can be covered.

Seems like I remember seeing Trey Quinn body surfing after the Tigers beat Bo Wallace & the undefeated weevils. Think that was the $100K game...

Grow the heck up and act like you’ve been there. It’s not like you played in the game.

They should take it out of the student loan forgiveness money

Raise the price of the student tickets next year to cover it.

It’s cringey to run on the field for a win over Ole Miss. Offenders should be identified and subjected to humiliation.

What a gimmick to steal money from schools. Do they want law enforcement to shoot them with rubber bullets? We let looters loot across the country but fine universities big sums when students celebrate. Not only is it robbery, it’s also retarded.

What a waste of money. The game wasn't even in doubt for about a quarter. Oh well, nice to beat Ole Miss' arse either way.
