Per LSUSports.net: ORLANDO, Fla. -- No. 17 LSU gained a 17-14 advantage with 2:02 to play in a back-and-forth 2018 Citrus Bowl before No. 14 Notre Dame completed a 55-yard touchdown to hand the Tigers a 21-17 loss on a rainy New Year's Day in Camping World Stadium.

@tampatiger22... I'm far from stupid. What's stupid is that the head coach had more faith in a kicker than Guice at that point in the game! We needed less than a foot! You tell me what's the smarter call at this point in the game? Guice or an 0/2 kicker?!

Damn that lsu offense is bad, phew glad 2017 season is over. Why doesn't peterson have any faith in his offense to get a td? He opts for a field goal twice when inside the 1 yard line when you know you do not have a field goal kicker that can not do his job. Hope Arden key gets his dream shot in NFL, what a lazy dude to skip out on bowl game.

All in all, a decent season. 10-3 would have been better than 9-4. Keep recruiting and work for next season. Going to be a tough slate in fall ‘18

Going to be a really long tough 2018 season for LSU if can not get a QB from a community college transfer

Hats, shirts, shoes off to Etling as well. Gave it all to this program on and off field. Made the very most of his limited qb talent. High character. Lots of chest.

4th qtr only, but thats when it counts the most. The 2 play drive was inexcusable and chavis like. Donte is horrible

No 4th qtr D, poor red zone execution, feels like the Penn State loss a few years ago, and the nd disaster 4 yrs ago. Danny is a tough qb but we'll never be elite until we get an elite type qb. Against the better than us programs we never have enough offense to win, never. Guice may go down as one of my top 3 all time players, great effort unlike key.

A year ago all the lanyards said we needed a game manager. We had a game manager... Now we must have an elite qb.

Etling played good. Every time we lose y’all blame Etling it wasn’t his fault he played hard

I'm really happy about our youth. People really need to quit bagging on Etling though. He played well and their constant bitching about him is annoying.

I'm not mad at the defense. Aranda is still the best coach on our staff. I'm mad at O for kicking a FG a foot away from the endzone in a bowl game, when Guice risked injury to play for LSU. He or Darrell deserved the chance to get 6 inches, and if they failed, at least you didn't play scared. It was stupid to kick when you've been missing all day. Notre Dame would've likely given up either a safety or punting in their own end zone. We're so far from being in the playoffs if Coach O is going to be like this and have issues with his staff every year.

LSU continues to accept mediocrity from its football program. I fear we'll continue to be mired in mediocrity until we make wholesale changes in staff and administration.

WTF??? Twice you're on the one-foot line and you don't go for it in a classic Bowl game. Pathetic play-calling.

if guice is screaming to the press box to get the ball, fake it to him next time. everybody knew he was getting it.
