LSU somehow dropped two spots to No. 5 in ESPN's updated College Football Power Rankings after beating Northwestern State 65-14 on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

Georgia and Oklahoma were the two teams that jumped the Tigers. Here's what they had to say about LSU:

5. LSU (3-0)
It's easy to understand why the Tigers would have a bit of a hangover after last week's big win at Texas, which is probably why they trailed FCS foe Northwestern State 7-3 after the first quarter Saturday. LSU finally blew the game open by scoring touchdowns on four straight possessions in the second half of a 65-14 win. Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 373 yards with two touchdowns on 21-for-24 passing. It was his fourth 300-yard passing game, which is second-most in LSU history. The Tigers' defense was missing several key players, including linebackers Michael Divinity Jr. and K'Lavon Chaisson, and struggled to get off the field early.

Up next: at Vanderbilt (Saturday, 11 a.m. CT on SECN)
Top 10 Power Rankings:
1. Clemson (3-0)
2. Alabama (3-0)
3. Georgia (3-0)
4. Oklahoma (3-0)
5. LSU (3-0)
6. Ohio State (3-0)
7. Notre Dame (3-0)
8. Utah (3-0)
9. Auburn (3-0)
10. Texas (2-1)

Forgot that power rankings are based off of the score at a stoppage in play a quarter of the way through the game.

Best to stay out on the edge at this stage anyway. Everyone always comes hard for number 1.

Pointless polls to get clicks. Shame on us for clicking honestly.

i think it's silly they fell, but if anyone from national media actually watched the first quarter i can understand why they have some doubts about LSU making the playoffs. fortunately, none of this matters and LSU has time to get the defense healthy and work out any kinks prior to our games w/ UF, AU, aTm, etc.

none of it matters. The only thing that does matter is winning the West, and the Playoff Selection Committee's rankings at year-end. The rest is just noise.
