LSU starting center Charles Turner announced this week that he has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft instead of returning for his final year of eligibility.

The 5th-year senior from Canton, Ohio, was LSU's starting center the past two seasons and appeared in 40 total games for the Tigers. He was a redshirt freshman during the 2019 National Championship season and played three games that year.

His departure paves the way for freshman DJ Chester to take over the starting spot.

Turner's backup, Marlon Martinez, transferred to Mississippi State in December.
