LSU head coach Les Miles will make his first return back to Tiger Stadium on Saturday to be honored with the 2007 National Championship team on the field during halftime of the Auburn game. Per The Advocate:
quote:

The former LSU coach will be part of the program’s celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the 2007 national championship team. Miles is scheduled to join players from that ’07 team during a reunion on the field at halftime of the Tigers’ game against Auburn, he confirmed in a message Monday night.

Miles, 63, still lives in Baton Rouge and remains an avid supporter of the program he led for nearly 12 years. His return to Tiger Stadium comes less than 13 months after school administrators fired the coach following a loss to this week’s opponent: Auburn.

makes me want to go to the game so i can give Les the respect and applause he deserves. Yes we all wanted him gone, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted.

Coach Miles will get my respect come Saturday. I’m glad I’ll be there to thank him for all he did and all he gave to LSU. I can separate the business from the person. He is the winnigst coach in LSU history and he LOVES the Tigers.

Good! I think they should invite Saban when honoring the 03 team as well. They may no longer be with us, but they were a part of those championships

Nah, I'm good.

Agreed...but I wonder whether Saban would accept the invitation? LSU fans haven't exactly been friendly to him in his other returns to TS with the "frick you Saban" student section chants and whatnot.

Saban was coaching in 2013 for that 10 year anniversary.

maybe they will let Les hold the players back coming out of the tunnel. i'll admit i was sick of seeing that, but i would laugh my arse off he did it again. it would be a slap in Alleva's face

Dinardo was our most effective recruiter. Kevin Faulk, Rondell Mealey, Cecil Collins, Booger Mcfarland, upset win over #1 UF in 1997.....he also warrants recognition..... LSU 27 ND 9 1997 Independence Bowl: Mealey had 34 carries for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns

Maybe O will loosen the leash on Canada in hopes to overshadow Les's return. Knowing the crowd will go nuts for Miles will eat at O's ego.

Can we just CLOSE the book on Les Miles? Jeez
user avatar
PortHudsonPlaya79 months
Yea, lets close the book on a guy that won a NC and went to another with possibly the most talented defense we've ever seen. I'm not ready to move on to this undeserving shite show we have now.
