LSU Sports - Chris Parent (@chrisparent)
Multiple sources have reported that LSU sophomore defensive back Kelvin Joseph has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, which allows other schools to recruit him.

Joseph still has the option to remove his name from the portal and remain at LSU if he chooses but the Baton Rouge native has not made a final decision at this time.

He did, however, send out the following tweets on Monday morning after news broke that he could be leaving the program.

Joseph was a highly recruited safety from Scotlandville Magnet in Baton Rouge for the 2018 class but moved to cornerback for his freshman season because of depth issues in LSU's secondary.

LSU's cornerback positions for the upcoming season are expected to be filled by senior Kristian Fulton and true freshman standout Derek Stingley.

Kid you need to learn that people are allowed to judge your decision and you dont get to decide how your choices are perceived.

Obviously you can’t comprehend well. He said that’s not the reason he’s transferring so obviously it must be grades or other issues other than competition. Smh

Stingley and Fulton must have everything on lock with Vincent starting at nickel. I really hope Fat stays though he’s a great contributor at corner and safety. I guess he doesn’t feel confident about Stingley next year with Ricks coming as well.

One injury and he’s back in the starting lineup, I don’t get it?

NCAA transfer portal is the new nfl free agency. Teams low on db’s contact Joseph and offer money. Joseph says “don’t judge me” and plays for another team. It’s going to be the downfall of college football.

I mean, he could easily slide to free safety or nickel. He'd be the guy to start after Fulton graduates. Hopefully he reconsiders before anything official happens.

tons of injuries throughout the season.. and we need subs to stay fresh, there will be many many ways for him to show what he can do this year.. cant keep the same guys on the field the whole time... if he bails.. he will regret it when he sees one of the starters @ lsu go down with a twisted ankle.. plus he has two more years to play.. i dont think he should leave.. no matter what team he plays for.. if he was born to compete, then why is he giving up on competing at lsu?

I would hope he would stay We have a long history of needing a lot of good players each year. I was thinking he would play a good bit this year.

Either STFU, stay and compete or STFU and go. It's that simple.

IF it is truly a personal issue, then the best of luck to the young man. If its competition or a petty issue related to coaching, let him walk. I have zero empathy in these situations. TEAM still stands for something.

I hope he stays. This reminds me of the Xavier Lewis situation. He transfer to Southeastern I believe because of competition. Next thing you know we are hurting at the CB position had he would have stayed he would have definitely been in the rotation.

I saw Kelvin as a very valuable piece to the secondary because of his flexibility and versatility, similar to Jacoby Stephens...would hate it but the secondary will be fine

It can only be 1 of 3 things - grades, competition or some internal infraction LSU has that other schools don't. The kid is from here... if it's anything "personal", here is where it gets fixed.

If he transfers in state... then his comment about his situation means he either go he arse in hot water, can't make the grades or some boo wants their baby daddy closer.
