LSU athletic director Joe Alleva joined the "Culotta & The Fan" 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge radio on Friday morning and talked about the cancellation between LSU and Florida.

When asked about a report by ESPN's Bret McMurphy that LSU turned down an offer to play Florida on November 19th, Alleva said that his report "is flat out a lie"

quote:

Joe Alleva: "That's a flat out lie. No one has contacted me," Alleva said. "And that's a perfect example of terrible journalism."

"He just tweets out that garbage. That's an absolute lie."

"perfect example of terrible journalism." Good job Joe. Society in general needs to start calling out the journalism profession. Ever since the advent of social media, it has gone completely to shite. People will just tweet/post something the moment they hear something without confirming or checking sources. They just want to be the first so they'll get the most action on their social media profiles.

TWC has changed their hour by hour forecast to 0% chance of rain. I am 2 hours south and it is sunny with blue skies.

I think LSU should play on Nov. 19th but only if Fla. pays them the money they would owe USAB and the normal concessions money they would lose and the money LDU would owe their fans who have tickets to the game. Bet Fla. would turn that down in a heart beat just like they refused to move the game because of injuries on their team. Fla. didn't want to play the game because if A&M beats ten. and Ala. beats Ten. Fla. will go to the SEC Championship game. A lose to LSU would knock them out of game for sure.

This is the time to get behind our AD and light a fire under Florida's arse. Make them forfeit this game.

Well Joe, McMurphy got the information from somewhere. Are you scared to ask him? Jeremy Foley set this narrative from Day 1. Foley is almost certainly behind the McMurphy story. Foley did his job. You didn't do yours.

I do believe Joe on this one.
I don't, however, believe he would have accepted Mobile, Nashville or Atlanta as an alternative site. He was going for Baton Rouge all the way. Florida wasn't going to be another South Carolina.
