New Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was asked at SEC Media Days on Monday about his connection the LSU coaching job over the past several years. Here's what he had to say, per SDS:
quote:

“Listen, my two boys were born in Baton Rouge,” he said. “I love Baton Rouge. My kids — that’s where they were born. They’re Louisianans. I’ve always had a great affiliation for that place and great love for that place. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work out at the time. We are where we are now, though. They have a great coach and I’m in a great situation, so we’ll move on. But I always have a great appreciation for those fans and those people there. They treated me unbelievably well.”

And the fans would've gizzed all over themselves if he'd decided to come here, no matter his record at FSU. It'll be interesting to see how does at aTm.

So A&M pays a coach coming off of a losing season the largest GUARANTEED contract in the history of college football and you want to throw Alleva under the bus for not pulling the trigger on what could turn out to be a monumental mistake ??? So many other reasons to despise Alleva but that ain't one of them.

Yes because Alleva hired the worst coach in Ole Miss history that no other school would’ve hired or wanted to hire. Also gave him a huge buyout.

so much utter BS in that statement lol, he wanted no part in working for the AD that we have is what the "real" truth is, and who could blame him. im still not sold on him being "all that" and would have fixed LSUs problems i think he is a "good" coach and thats about it, by no stretch is he a "great" coach as the PR campaign portrays him.
