Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
It was reported on Sunday afternoon that LSU has reached out to the agent of Houston head coach Tom Herman regarding the Tigers' head coaching vacancy.

Herman met with the media on Sunday night after his team's practice and firmly denied that he or his agent has been contacted by LSU.
quote:

"There's certainly been no contact, I can firmly deny that." Herman said. "Beyond that, I'm never going to comment on another job during the season."
Herman is 17-1 at Houston and is currently one of the hottest names in College Football. Expect to hear his name a lot over the next few months as LSU looks for a long-term replacement for Les Miles

Damn. Journalists are dumb and people are dumb. What the hell is he going to say? "Uh, yes ... my agent has been in preliminary talks with LSU, but I stress they are just preliminary." This is not news. Of course he's going to deny like hell no matter what the situation.

If he considered South carolina last year, LSU should be a slam dunk.

"Beyond that, I'm never going to comment on another job during the season." Translation: Even if they had contacted my agent, you sure as shite will never learn about it until December.

Tom Herman and his agent hasn't talked to LSU. I'd bet his agent talked to an LSU intermediary.

Confusing title to this article. From reading the quote it seems like he's saying "no, there has been no contact (yet)." The title is ambiguous and could be read as saying he's saying "no" to the job.

I seem to recall Saban saying the same thing before he left Miami. Just saying. In my opinion, I'd like to see this guy in Baton Rouge.
