LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier appeared on 104.5 ESPN's "Off The Bench" from the Senior Bowl this week and talked about his core injury that limited his performance this past season.

Nussmeier revealed that he wasn't even sure if he would be able to participate in the Senior Bowl, but he's finally getting healthy:
quote:

"It's been a long process, and I'm starting to get healthy," Nussmeier said.

"We finally got some answers... about a month ago, we finally figured out what it was. We finally have a good plan to get healthy. It was a game-time decision to see if I could come out here."

"I couldn’t use my core," Nussmeier explained. "So I was throwing the ball without my core."

"I'm going back from the ground up and retrain myself. Getting back to finishing throws and rotating through the ball, actually using my core now. It's been nice. The ball is coming out a whole lot differently. It's been good."

What’s behind us is not before us…
No reason to get on or off the Nuss Bus anymore.

He was not injured the year before and 2 years ago. He is not athletic for today's game.

Even though he opened up about it, it’s still being kept hush hush on what it is/was and when it happened. Weird situation

Wonder if it was a similar injury as the one Brennan had.

Not the "flip flop" fishing accident but the one from the mizzou game (i believe).

More importantly, when did the injury occur? I believe it was preseason and we were lied to from day one.

Glad to hear for sure what he had was an injury. Glad to hear he's getting better. Hope he gets paid.

If he was honest after the Clemson game, maybe the whole year would have been different. However, it helped get us Lane Kiffin so I'm not complaining.

It’s on the coaching staff to make that call and they failed
