Florida AD Jeremy Foley & SEC Commish Greg Sankey Release Statements Monday
by TD Staff ReporterOctober 10, 2016

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports
Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey both released statements on Monday about the postponement and possible rescheduling of the LSU-Florida game.
quote:
Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley: “We understand the importance of playing this game and we want to play this game. We continue to work with the SEC and LSU to make that happen.”
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey: “The presidents and athletics directors from Florida and LSU agreed on Thursday that the schools and SEC Office would make every effort to find a scheduling solution to their postponed game. As I have said, we need to play the game we need to have people come together to find a way to make that happen. We continue to work with the universities to play this game.”

Sankey created this problem. Why does he have any hope that he can fix it?

I really hope Stankey is feeling the heat and wont be around to fix the problem. Would be a great time to fire the guy.

sankey nut up man, actually you blew your chance last week. Florsux you're a joke, you flat out didn't want to play that game and used the hurricane as your out. Shame on you beaver teeth.

That is a silly concession to make. I can understand not allowing Florida to dictate terms or putting this anywhere but a neutral site but forcing healthy players to sit out of the game simply because they were hurt on the original date? That is insane. For all we know Florida will have even worse injuries come dec 3rd or whenever this is played.

@LSU2a Even better if they have further injuries. The makeup game should be a close to realtime (10/8) as possible to be fair. Their depleted defensive line would be that much more porous and LSU would probably approach 1,000 yds rushing...:)

It wasn't important enough to play on Friday or Sunday or the beautiful day that was Saturday. Nope! Not without a healthy QB and a hurt DL.

Why is this even Foley's decision at this point? Sankey needs to tell him when the game will be played, and they can show up or not.

So when Sankey says the game will be played November 19th in Gainesville you'll be just fine with that?

Greg Sankey , has not guts , he showed that this pass week, OR he just was taking UofF side on this matter all along. Either way, the guy is weak!!

sportjunkie69: sankey can't cancel an LSU home game with an OOC opponent with a contract. Nice try though.

Max wind in Gainesville was 35 mph gusts and 1 inch of rain. Why these turds at UF refused to play Sunday or Monday is beyond understanding. LSU even offered to fly in and fly out so not to tie up hotel rooms. Foley and Sankey are both idiots and they are responsible for this screwup.

I get them not playing Sunday or Monday. No one knew how bad that damage would be and if the first responders that are usually at the game may have been needed elsewhere. However, no plan to reschedule and dragging their feet is just ridiculous.
