Twitter apologies scream class....

And if he didn’t make an open apology on social media, he would be crucified. I don’t have a problem with it. Kudos to Dari for the apology.

Everyone, including every player I saw interviewed, knew about the tragedy. I accept the apology.

If you look at all the post game interviews, every player knew about the tragedy pregame except Joe. Perhaps he was in game plan mode with Joe Brady.

I do honestly believe once Joe was “locked in a loaded” teammates don’t just walk up to him and tell him something disheartening like that pregame or during the game for that matter. If you do you may get an arse whipping by the rest of the team.

I’ve always liked Dari. I like him even more now. He is class. I’m sure it was an accident.

If anyone knows Dari's story losing his own child years ago, you'll know he feels awful. He does not take death of a loved one lightly and would have never done it just to get the answer first.

This is perfectly appropriate, and Dari is a class act for recognizing the error and apologizing for it. I would have assumed that the entire team was aware of the tragedy, as Dari and his team did, but he immediately apologized. It takes a big person to admit to a mistake and work to correct the damage.

Just another media idiot unconscionably trying to capitalize on a tragic event. He’s a POS.

Your comment says far more about you than it does about Dari.

If you go back and look at the video, Dari looks around, down, and briefly nods ... I think a producer promoted him to ask the question which is why he repeatedly said “we” in his apology. I respect Dari for the apology and taking the bullet for the producer as well. Class act from a really good guy.

I think it shows class to own up and apologize. However, he should not have asked anything about that in the postgame

I think it it wasn't necessarily him that wanted to ask that I think it was the producers pushing him to ask that question...U can see him looking back quite a bit in all the interviews especially right b4 he ask that question

The question was unnecessary and crass. Why bring it up? I didn't see the interview, but I can imagine the gist of the question "So, how do you feel about it? Bad?"

You didn't even see the interview yet you feel the need to voice your assumptions?

Did Dari bring up the tragedy to get a reaction? He is a reporter doing what reporters do. Pretty shitty stuff.

Did he bring up the tragedy to get a reaction? He's a sports reporter, doing sports reporters do, but still shitty stuff.

The guy is a Reporter, its his job and he just simply made a mistake asking Joe when he Didn't already know. He seems very apologetic, so no clue why anyone wouldn’t accept his apologies and just move on?

I watched the short clip of the question and it really looked like this guy, Tebow and the others felt like turds when they realized JB wasn't BS'ing them and he really didn't know.

You could see the remorse on his face the moment he realized. It was an error. One he'll never make again. His reaction indicates he's a good man who simply made a mistake.

Class act Dari, you’re forgiven my friend! From this LSU fan.

Not sure why some posters are apologizing for this douche. The line of questioning was unnecessary, unethical and disrespectful. Frick this guy again for shining a light on the tragedy just to save face and even before her funeral.

Some folks on this board just can’t wait to grab someone’s jugular and pull it loose. Nuance be damned. Dari was obviously distressed and embarrassed, and Ive gained respect for the man. It isn’t up to any of us t accept or reject it. I feel pretty confident that the folks in the know are good with Dari.
user avatar
Honestly, I’ve never liked Dari... BUT.... I have to say I actually have gained some respect for him after this. We all screw up, and a lot of reporters would have tried to justify the question instead of owning the mistake and asking forgiveness. I HONESTLY BELIEVE he had NO intention of doing what he did. You could see it on his face and in his tone when he realized the mistake. Kudos to Dari for recognizing and trying to make it right. I like him a little better now.

Guy meant no harm. Death and tragedy are just tough things to deal with. Your heart goes out to the families involved.
