After each week's completion, ESPN College Football analyst Cole Cubelic shares his "Sunday SEC takeaways."

Here's what he had to say about LSU's ugly 42-13 loss to Alabama.
quote:

LSU: Brutal loss. Had some cool stuff in on off but it didn't consistently go. Stretch hits twice & never saw it again. Protection struggled. Slide pro turning guys free in A gap. RBs ran hard when they got a shot. 86 had a good game. 2 great. OL put in some bad spots IMO. QB looked a bit rattled. Left early. Screen game had creativity but couldn't bust any. Had some good misdirection change ups. Def played hard. Adjusted late to a few formations. Stunts took them out of a few plays. 4 brought it. Edges were aggressive & it got attacked. Extra blocker was tough on them. 35 played hard. 99 tough inside. Got displaced up front a little. Took some big punches early & just couldn't counter. Got more one dimensional than they were. Not enough time to consistently challenge down the field.

It’s become obvious Nuss is mentally weak and our O line is massively overhyped. Poor coaching as well.

He didn't mention them being giant pussies for some reason

Sounded less critical than I was expecting. No doubt a brutal loss as he says, and disastrous but possibly less reason for the utter despair we as fans were all feeling as it played out. Good to see a reasonable neutral evaluation. Still- a brutal loss is a brutal loss.
