ESPN Names LSU As A Two-Loss Team That Could Still Make The Playoff

USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect
LSU's College Football Playoff hopes took another hit Saturday night with a 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky, but ESPN's Jake Trotter isn't counting the Tigers out just yet.
In his latest college football takeaways, Trotter pointed to LSU as a two-loss team that still has a chance to make a playoff run.
The Tigers have little room for error moving forward, but with home games against Alabama and Texas still on the schedule, there are plenty of opportunities to get back into the playoff conversation.
Here's what Trotter had to say about LSU:
Oct 17 vs. Mississippi State
Oct 24 at Auburn
Nov 7 vs. Alabama
Nov 14 vs. Texas
Nov 21 at Tennessee
Nov 28 at Arkansas
Do you think they can still make the playoffs?

Which two-loss team has the best chance to rebound and make the CFP?
The odds are against LSU making the playoff following the overtime loss at Kentucky. But the Tigers have the talent and the opportunity to still make a run at a playoff spot.
LSU's remaining schedule includes home games against Alabama and Texas. If LSU runs the table, it will be a lock for the CFP.
However, precedent suggests that three defeats are too many for any team to make the playoff. So LSU likely doesn't have much margin for error, if any.
But two losses on the road against quality opponents shouldn't eliminate the Tigers just yet. Lane Kiffin & Co. could still be heard from in the postseason conversation. -- Jake Trotter
