LSU's play-calling struggles led to many questions for Ed Orgeron on Monday about offensive coordinator Jake Peetz and what could be done to eliminate presnap issues.

Orgeron was even asked if former offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, who serves as a consultant on staff, could go up in the press box and help Peetz?

"Is there anything you can do to bring someone into the press box, maybe to help Jake Peetz? Can Steve Ensminger help? And maybe say' 'let's find a play and stick to it,' that kind of thing?"
quote:

"Yeah, that's a thought," Orgeron responded. "That has been considered. I think Steve is enjoying his retirement. He does come as a consultant and maybe he will come in the box. It might be something I'll talk to him about. Good idea."

Fire Peetz and convince Ensminger to call plays for the rest of the year. Fire O after the year and get somebody that isn't a complete moron to be the head coach.

What a fricking moron! This is what we pay 8 million a year for. When you have reporters giving you ideas of what to do then its way past time for you go!

So he's essentially throwing Peetz under the bus here. Great leadership O! If Peetz really could use some advice in regard to play calling you keep that in-house. You don't air that out to reporters.

This is beyong laughable at this point. Forget Saban….can you imagine ANY respected HC taking advice from a reporter and saying “Good Idea.” Smh.

Was clearly him being politically correct and really saying "shut the f up"

Can we get that same reporter to go back and suggest his resignation?

Every time I think it can't get more embarrassing, Coach O opens his mouth and proves me wrong.

So we're paying Yaw Yaw $6m a year so that a $40k a year reporter can give him insight on what he should do? For f***s sake man. He is so over his head that it's laughable.

Sweet lord. If you need Steve Engminger to bail you out it's worse than anyone thought.

Why not? We averaged 31 a game last year with basically the same offensive players.

At this point, Coach O doesn't have clue to successfully manage a football program. He hired his staff. He has no confidence in them. Does LSU have the money to part ways with shrimp captain?

Wow, that comment is as good as him not interviewing Pellini before he hired him. He must have Les Miles for a consultant because he's starting to act like him. Scott Woodward, start making your wish list.

Please tell me he literally didn't say “good idea”. This coming from a guy saying he's was hiring the best coaches in America

Yes, those words came out of his mouth, but I promise you it wasn't sincere and isn't even being considered as an option

Ok. So we go out and hire an Offensive Coordinator who doesn’t know how to call plays and have to ask Ensminger (who is trying to retire) to come bail the OC out? Oh yeah, this is normal. WTF IS THE OC PAID TO DO?
user avatar
BigTimer2331 months
So I guess you’ve bailed on defending O ad nauseam, Rob?

Hey Little Timer, I never did support Orgeron ad nauseum but you do seem obsessed with me. You are kind of a creepy mofo.

Play calling isnt the issue. The O-Line can't make any play happen.

Throw your current OC under the bus in public. You need to throw the O-line coach under the bus. Peetz has lost half his playbood because of the O-line not being able to occassionally get 5 yards in the run game.
