Head coach Ed Orgeron used LSU's bye week to travel with the family to see his son's Cody and Parker, who play for McNeese State, take on Central Arkansas last Saturday.

The Cowboys (6-2) couldn't get it done vs. the Bears (7-1), losing 47-17 but the trip allowed the Orgeron clan a chance to spend some quality family time together.

During the trip, Orgeron said his Mother Coco gave him an "Alabama scouting report" and "his orders" for the week.

You sour bastards are too stupid to see he is politicking. He's winning games and constantly winning over new fans. Maybe he's doing a little too much of the latter. But he knows his audience.

You're over thinking it. He's a seasoned coon arse that has an impeccable résumé as a position coach that took his dream job for 3M a year when he woulda done it for a sack of crawfish. He's not politicking, he's genuine.

Or he's catering to the most influential figure in most of his recruits' lives?

The NCAA has already contact Coach O to ensure that his mom is under the "Shadow Staff" umbrella.

This really doesn't help the arguments for him. His momma told him to get after the quarterback and get the boys ready. Good grief.

Only in Louisiana! Everyone is into football and has usually very good advice for the coaching staff. I think Coach O can probably follow Coco’s advice because it’s rather obvious what needs to be done to beat Alabama: Win the line of scrimmage(both sides), and pass the ball to set up the run. I’m sure that’s about what she told him and he’s already acknowledged that’s what has to happen. Aside from that, glad to see Coach taking a little break to see his sons play and spend time with his family. Tough to balance that out. Now, get back to work O, and let’s beat Bama!

Wouldn’t shock me if he took coaching advice from her.

O doesn’t coach. He just sits on the sidelines and says “Let’s go” while Canada and Aranda coach.

One of the news stations in NOLA did a home interview with Coach O’s mom. She is very funny.
