Gus Stark / LSU Athletics
Ed Orgeron was on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday morning and talked about star freshman tight end Arik Gilbert.

Orgeron said they both spoke on Tuesday and Gilbert told him he was opting out for the season but did not say if he was transferring.

Gilbert, a former five-star prospect from Marietta, Georgia, is the seventh LSU player to opt out this season.

Don't let him come back, he isn't a team player. Let him transfer to non SEC university.

He goes from the most anticipated player in years to a dude who quits. Man what a year this has been.

The real story is someone got into his ear and now he wants to quit because lsu is gonna go 3-7 and he was part of that losing...front runnner mentality

I find it harder and harder to root for this team. We have some deep rooted problems that need to be addressed

Dude is suffering from vaginitis. He didn’t opt out, he quit and that shouldn’t sit well with his teammates who go to battle every day.

bullshite need to set a standard 5 star Covid excuse or whatever. Move on we need young MEN who have balls to fight through tough times. That’s what makes TEAMS because you grow when chips are stacked against so you appreciate when winning comes back around.

It would seem to me that he is concerned about scheme and the loss of Brady to the offense. But maybe Im wrong?
