Gus Stark / LSU Athletics
Ed Orgeron was on the SEC Coaches Teleconference Wednesday morning and talked about star freshman tight end Arik Gilbert.

Orgeron said they both spoke on Tuesday and Gilbert told him he was opting out for the season but did not say if he was transferring.

Gilbert, a former five-star prospect from Marietta, Georgia, is the seventh LSU player to opt out this season.

What's going to eventually happen is the guys who stick this out are going to rally around each other... and then, naturally, there will be resentment towards the ones who left them to fend for themselves. If that happens, the guys that left are not going to be welcomed back with opened arms.

It would seem to me that he is concerned about scheme and the loss of Brady to the offense. But maybe Im wrong?

bullshite need to set a standard 5 star Covid excuse or whatever. Move on we need young MEN who have balls to fight through tough times. That’s what makes TEAMS because you grow when chips are stacked against so you appreciate when winning comes back around.

So he'll be at UGA and a #1 pick down the road.
